World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Upgrades to items allow players to increase the gear score of an item to 700, and then add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.
Certain items can be upp'd for their unique stats (like a perfectly broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) and others, like weapons, don't change much post upgrade, so they aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also have a flat bonus which increases their damage per second. Additionally there are many weapons with a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a single unit. In some cases this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon upgrades on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For instance the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. item upgrading of stones required to upgrade the weapon will continue to rise until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons also change the stats of their base. While this is generally an excellent thing, it can have some negative consequences too. In the case of items that only see use in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example) upgrading them can render them useless unless you happen to have an extremely fortunate roll.
Items of armor can also be upgraded to improve their performance. In the case of chests or helms, it will boost its defense base while a belt and gloves will increase their strength and dexterity. Armor also has an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it can sometimes roll back to a lower number.
The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats it will gain upon upgrading in addition to their respective values. This means that a weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will be hit 3 times less often, since it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button on the item menu, using the arrows that are circling. This will roll an item and alter its stats, but not reset the weapon's levels, or tie it to the account status.
Armor
A few upgrades to your armor can make a huge difference to your survivability. Certain sets offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poisons and fire as well as magic. This can make it easier to navigate difficult terrains. The more defense your character has, the more value you will get from each point of health you possess and it's crucial to upgrade your armor as much as possible.
To upgrade your armor, go to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game and in order to unlock them all, you must complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main quest and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees required for each will vary. In general, you'll be looking at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent upgrade. The Champion Leathers, for example can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which will allow you to stay ahead in frigid conditions with a large group of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense, which means you can survive a raid with your comrades.
It isn't possible to upgrade armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor for physical strength or the power of spells. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll wear at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you wear for the final boss battle, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
You can also unlock some benefits to your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. In general, you should keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be useful to have a few improvements to the chest armor and helmets that permit you to sneak past certain monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the participant, produce the player with a temporary effect. There are five kinds of potions, each having particular effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.
Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP, which can be earned by crafting them on a table or in the Alchemist's chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion and the item's rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI where you can choose the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll produce when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it won't degrade until you use it again, or break the bottle it's stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change the name of the potion.
There were a few updates to the mechanics of potion in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for example have now a duration of 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display for the item. The potion table is now crafted from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players playing Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be combined in cauldrons. Also, putting a potion in a cauldron that is full drains the potion and replenishes the bottle.
Finally, there are simmering potions made with dragon breath and splash potions. Similar to lingering potions, the can be enhanced by adding redstone. The table of potion ingredients is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, such as the potion of leaping and decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket can be an ornamental item that is small, cheap or piece jewelry. It can also refer to an ornament or object that serves a function but is not important as a thimble. In some traditions, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, particularly between family members.
Players can upgrade trinkets as well as weapons and armor, as well as potions. Upgrades can be made by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. In contrast to other upgrades for items, trinkets can be swapped out at will without losing their stats.
The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and the capital of each zone, as well as in in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with gold, tokens, or fragments from trinkets that are rare.
Upgrades to trinkets are an economical alternative to buying a new one. It is possible to upgrade a player for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl as the previous one, and will come with an additional 1% upgrade bonus.
Once the old Trinkets have become not usable they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value over time. They can be traded between players, making them an alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries and then other pieces of gear that will not be replaced soon (for instance rings or cloaks). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when deciding the items to upgrade. For example, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers it is recommended that they upgrade their helm, chest, shoulders, and belt.
After they've become unusable, trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket has an additional 1% bonus. A re-upgrade, however, will destroy the trinket unless it is saved using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than purchasing an entirely new trinket.
